The MakeHuman Modelling Subtabs and Slider Overview

The MakeHuman modelling subtabs and sliders, this is why you have downloaded this software. To model. While this will not be a step by step guide showing you how to model each detail I hope it will give you enough information to enable you to get the most out of the available tools and start creating. Lets get into it.

Modelling Tab

When you open MakeHuman you are in the Modelling tab by default with the Main subtab active. You will notice there are seven more subtabs available, Gender, Face, Torso, Arms and Legs, Random, Custom and Measure. If you left click on each subtab you will also notice most of those tabs when activated open two menu options, one on the left of the workspace and one on the right. The Main subtab has two but only the one on the left can be altered and the Random subtab only has a menu on the left.

How to use the sliders in the left hand menus.

These sliders are really very intuitive and work as you may already expect. They also make real time changes to your model in the workspace.

If you depress the left mouse button hold and drag on the slider you can alter the position of the slider bar, releasing the button will leave the slider in the position it was in when you released the left mouse button.

If you right click anywhere on the slider it will return to the default starting location.

Left clicking anywhere on the slider will move the slider button to that location.

The middle mouse button (wheel) works the same as the left mouse button, you can scroll the middle mouse wheel also, however at this stage those changes do not take effect on the model due to some needed Python updates which is outside of what is maintained by the MakeHuman community.

Each subtab and related menu will be looked at in detail in posts for each subtab.
