The MakeHuman Community Tab

The community tab is where the power of community assets can be download and installed,  connections to third party software can be opened and human models can be mass produced. The community tab contains three subtabs, download assets, socket and mass produce. Prior to being able to download any assets you will need to click the "Synchronize" button in the right hand menu. This can take some time, don't worry it is working. When completed a small popup window will appear letting you know the process is complete. I tend to resync daily.

Subtabs

Download Assets

This tab contains two menus. On the left is an asset filter for searching through community assets. On the right is a menu allowing for the display of details of any selected asset and a download button. Assets downloaded from the community tab will be automatically placed in the appropriate folder making them immediately accessible for use.

One asset class that can require a little further work to organise are targets. Targets allow for further morphing the base mesh and when downloaded are all grouped together. Simply opening the targets folder and creating subfolders can help you to keep them grouped as you so choose. After doing this and rescanning targets folder from the modelling custom subtab will display the folders in the right hand context menu. selecting a folder radial will open the targets stored in it.

Socket

The socket subtab is where you can enable communication between third party software such as Blender and MakeHuman. If you are having difficulty importing models into Blender using the available plug in chances are very good you have not activated the accept connections radial in the server context menu on the left side of the screen in this subtab.

Mass Produce

This subtab will allow you to quickly mass produce an amount of models you set. You will see on the left hand side context menus via which you can set the parameters for the randomisation. In the centre of the screen is a context menu for selecting further parameters focused on geometries and materials and on the right hand screen you can select the base name for the files and the format they will be saved in as well as the number of characters you would like generated. These files will be saved in the models folder.
